Probationary Period – PSE Conversion to Unencumbered MOU
Dear PSE Members,
According to APWU Headquarters (HQ), PSEs who are converted to career, via the PSE Conversion to Unencumbered Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), will not have to serve a probationary period if they have already served one full term as a PSE, pursuant to the 7/29/16 Q & As on POSTPlan, filling Residuals and Travel, Question & Answer 14. (See below)
Question 14:
When converted to career, does a PSE have to serve a probationary period?
Answer:
Clerk Craft PSEs who have already served one full term as a PSE will not be required to serve a
probationary period as required by Article 12, § 1 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), after
conversion to career.
